Brooke Schipporeit:
Brooke Schipporeit is a Housing Advocacy Organizer at the National Low Income Housing Coalition (NLIHC) where she mobilizes partners on federal policy advocacy and other organizing efforts in support of socially just affordable housing policy. Before joining NLIHC, Brooke spent time in Philadelphia supporting state and local coalitions in their efforts to advance solutions to housing poverty. Specifically, she worked as an MSW intern with the Housing Alliance of Pennsylvania and as Philadelphia’s Regional Housing Coordinator for the Self-Determination Housing Project of Pennsylvania. Prior to beginning her career in affordable housing advocacy, Brooke worked in direct services in her home state of Nebraska for both the Head Start program and a domestic violence shelter. Brooke earned her Bachelor of Science in Social Work from Nebraska Wesleyan University and her Master of Social Work from the University of Pennsylvania.

Tai Coates
Taí Coates is the Campaign Media Manager for the National Housing Trust (NHT) and works directly on video production for “Where Will We Live,” a grassroots advocacy campaign designed to capture and amplify the narratives of affordable housing residents, property staff, and community members in key states across the country. We are learning from their stories—their background, experiences, struggles, goals and values—and with these videos, we are able to share and highlight the impact that stable housing has made in their journey with policymakers, community members and local constituents.

Prior to joining NHT, she specialized in strategic digital communications in public affairs, and executed the creative strategies behind advocacy campaigns for a variety of public- and private sector clients. Miss Coates graduated from the University of Maryland with a Bachelor of Arts in Communication.
