Bring Up Nebraska: A Celebration of Progress
Nebraska Children and Families Foundation and a coalition of statewide partners are proud to celebrate the successes of the 2nd year of Bring Up Nebraska, promoting local community partnerships to establish hope and opportunities for children, youth, families to thrive. Governor Pete Ricketts and First Lady Susanne Shore will be on hand to help celebrate the amazing work and successes of the community-based prevention efforts.
9:00 am - 10:00 am: Pinwheels for Prevention planting on the lawn of the Governor's Residence
We will be planting a Pinwheels for Prevention garden, raising awareness of prevention in April, National Child Abuse Prevention Month, and emphasizing that ordinary people can take small but meaningful steps to help children, families and entire communities thrive.
10:30 am: Governor's Proclamation for Child Abuse Prevention Awareness Month - State Capitol, Hearing Room 1524 (limited audience)
11:00-11:30 am: Press Conference - State Capitol, 2nd floor Rotunda
12:15-1:15 pm: Celebration Luncheon hosted by First Lady Susanne Shore - Governor's Residence. (Due to limited seating, this event will be for community members only)
Casey Family Programs, the nation’s largest operating foundation, will award the communities involved in Bring Up Nebraska with the Jim Casey Building Communities of Hope Award.
2:00-4:00 pm: Community and State Partners meeting - Nebraska Club - 233 S 13th Street, Suite 2000.
4:30-6:00 pm: Reception - Nebraska Club - 233 S 13th Street, Suite 2000.
Join the First Lady and Bring Up Nebraska partners to celebrate the progress we've made to improve outcomes for youth and families. Nebraska Children and Families Foundation and partners will also celebrate the work of the Connected Youth Initiative and the improvements made for unconnected youth in our state.
