Nebraska TPITOS™ Two-Day Reliability Workshop Training
Implementing Pyramid Model Practices
Teaching Pyramid Infant–Toddler Observation Scale (TPITOS™) reliability workshop prepares participants for the use of the instrument to gather information on infant-toddler teachers’ implementation of Pyramid Model practices. This is an intensive workshop that requires prerequisite knowledge, preparation, and participation in the entire workshop. Participants who successfully complete the workshop and meet reliability standards will receive a certificate indicating reliability status and can serve as reliability partners to other observers. Successful completion will indicate that the TPITOS™ workshop participant is reliable with the Nebraska Pyramid evaluation team.
2-Day Training
(Lunch provided)
DAY 1: Presenters will provide training on the TPITOS™ instrument, key definitions, and scoring guidance. Participants practice scoring indicators.
DAY 2: Presenters will continue TPITOS™ training. Participants will view an entire TPITOS™ observation/interview on video (2.5 hours) and score the TPITOS™ to check reliability. Participants who meet reliability will be eligible to conduct TPITOS™’s for the evaluation of Pyramid projects across the state. NOTE: Being eligible to conduct TPITOS™’s does not guarantee a contract will be offered for this work. Additional criteria must also be met.
