Early childhood care and education in the United States is at both a crisis points and an inflection point. Combined with a steady demand for childcare and increased attention to the field, there is an urgent need for a well-prepared and professionally compensated early childhood workforce. “The buy-in, investment from, and advocacy of higher education leaders—presidents, provosts, chancellors, and deans—are critical to developing, sustaining, and retaining qualified early childhood educators” (NAEYC).
