Nebraska Children Board of Directors

Laura has worked for the Omaha Public Power District since 1999 and is currently the Director – Corporate Accounting & Controller. In this role, Laura oversees the corporate accounting function that is responsible for providing the monthly and annual financial statements for OPPD including providing financial reporting to the OPPD Board of Directors and working with internal and external auditors on the review of financial statements. Before her current role, Laura worked as the Manager – Treasury and Capital management, Manager – Internal Auditing and spent several years in Corporate Accounting at OPPD. Prior to joining OPPD, she worked for KPMG, LLP as an auditor and served primarily governmental and utility clients. Laura received her undergraduate degree in accounting from California State University, Fullerton and her MBA from Creighton University. She is a Certified Public Accountant (inactive registration) and a Certified Internal Auditor. She is also a graduate of the Greater Omaha Chamber’s Leadership Omaha program.
