Mike Wortman, Secretary
Mike Wortman recently retired from his position as Principal of Lincoln High School. A graduate of Minden High School and University of Nebraska, he began his career teaching math and coaching at St. Ann’s School in Lexington, Nebraska. He later worked at the University of Nebraska with the High School Equivalency Program, helping high school dropouts from migrant families prepare for and pass the GED. His went on to serve as principal at Valley High School and in Hutchinson, Kansas. In 1995 he returned to Lincoln to become the principal at Lincoln High. His work through the years as an administrator has given him practical expertise in working with a variety of socioeconomic backgrounds among his students.
A resident of Lincoln, Mike joined the Nebraska Children board in 2016.
