The purpose of this tool is to assist directors and administrators in making (re)opening decisions regarding childcare programs during the COVID-19 pandemic. It is important to check with state and local health officials and other partners to determine the most appropriate actions while adjusting to meet the unique needs and circumstances of
the local community. -

This document provides concrete strategies for supporting family child care educators in running their programs during this global health crisis. The information in this publication builds on state and local health and safety regulations and should be used in conjunction with them. It is intended for family child care educators who have decided to keep their programs open or are in the process of reopening in accordance with these regulations.

The Center for Rural Affairs is partnering with the Community Reinvestment Fund to expand access to the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) in Nebraska. If you have not accessed PPP yet, please complete this short intake form. Applications are being accepted until August 8th.
Through this partnership, we are able to accept applications from sole proprietors and other small businesses that may have had difficulty accessing the program.

File for unemployment insurance (UI) as soon as you receive notice that you are being laid-off, furloughed, let go or their place of work is closed due to COVID. Dept. of Labor has made this process more rapid and several requirements are being waived for UI claims such as searching for new work and the one-week wait period.
